 Location: Ideally located on a long palm-fringed sandy ocean beach, 60 Kilometres south of Colombo, 100 km south of the airport.

Description: The Paradise Island Health Resort, sister to the Ayurveda Walauwa Resort in Bentota, is strictly for Ayurveda clients only. The setting is simple and small with basic red-brick individual cottages with either a riverfront or beachfront view. The hotel discourages smoking and there is no telephone or TV in the rooms. This simple setting, without the usual beach resort bustle, aids relaxation.

Accommodation:
26 comfortably furnished individual bungalow-style double rooms afford a sense of privacy to complement the restful atmosphere. You may choose a beach or river-front bungalow with its own terrace in close proximity to a fresh water swimming pool. All rooms are air-conditioned, with telephone and attached baths with hot and cold water

Sri Budhasa Health Resorts, are designed and operated solely for in house Ayurveda guests and offer a treasure of ancient, time-tested health rejuvenation secrets to rebuild youth from the inside using simple, all-natural methods. The centres consist of several specially designed cubicles to administer a variety of therapies. To begin, you will be examined by the Ayurveda specialist doctor, has a wealth of wisdom gleaned from thirty years experience, who will determine your condition and prescribe your course of treatment, diet and therapy according to your needs. Then onwards you will be given personalised attention and a team of friendly, well-informed staff will be at hand to serve you. You can enjoy a combination of a tropical beach holiday with a complete revitalising programme.

 Sri BAcupuncture: Treatments administered by a local doctor.
Meditation: A Buddhist monk comes in twice a week for meditation and lectures on Buddhism.
Yoga: Yoga classes are conducted everyday except Tuesday by two local male instructors.
Ayurveda:
The hotel has 18 treatment rooms with two steam rooms, and 26 therapists both male and female.  There is one chief doctor along with 3 assistants and the centre has its own herbal brewery and pharmacy along with an Ayurveda health shop. All the medicine, oils etc. are made in Sri Lanka. Ayurveda cooking demonstrations are also held.

Main treatments:
The following are the main treatments that would be administered in the Intensive Ayurveda Regeneration Programme (Panchakarma). Please note that the selection and frequency of treatments will alter depending on your consultation with the doctor. It is advisable to bring along medical records if you are planning any serious ayurveda treatment.

Muhuna Abyanga – Facial massage with oil or herbal cream to remove impurities and achieve smoothness. It soothes the nerve structure of the face.
Shirsha Abyanga
– Head and nape of the neck is massaged with oil to stimulate blood circulation, make nerve tracts flexible and resilient, promote hair growth, and relax tenseness.
Vishesha Sharira Abyanga – Synchronised, Intensive massage. Two therapists using special oil to strengthen and invigorate the skin and tissue as well as the lymphatic and immune system for deep relaxation and harmony will massage body gently and synchronously.
Vishesha Prathikara – A special therapy, prescribed by the senior physician, using specific herbal medicine and oil for the cure of specific ailments.
Shirodhara
– Lukewarm oil is continuously and gradually poured on the forehead through a copper ve
ssel. Recommended for headaches, depression, and insomnia.
Sarwangadara – Warm medicated liquid/ oil is poured on the body together with mild massages.
Pinda Sweda – Warm oil massage followed by heated herbal-rice bag massage for relaxation, pain relief, and stimulation of blood circulation.
Vashpa Aggrahanaya – Herbal inhalation that serves to dilate and purify the respiratory tract.
Avagahana Sweda –  A warm herbal bath to relax tension, purify the system, alleviate pain and for general well being.
Vashpa Sweda – Herbal steam bath with as many as 6 fresh herbs and 12 dried herbs make up the boiling pot, which produces the steam for this remedy. It opens the capillaries and tissue crevices to induce sweating and excrete waste matter.
Akshi Tharpana – A special eye therapy treatment for ailments using herbal medicine.
Acupuncture – Ayurveda and Acupuncture harmonises well in specific cases. Dispensed with the guests consent.
Panchakarma – (Vamana, Vireka, Vasti, Raktha Mochana, Nasya) are five Ayurveda remedies used in the cleansing process of ones system, through which toxins and other harmful substances in the body are eliminated.
