The island Velassaru is a jewel among the tourist resorts, a paradise for guests who appreciate comfort

Location : In the North of the South Male Atoll. Length about 450 m, width 150 m. Distance to the house reef 300 m, to the outer reef 450 m. Transfer time by boat from the airport to the island or vice versa 45 minutes.

What is the island offering: Coarse white coral sand, broad beaches and crystal clear waters, lush interior of the island dominated by many shady palm trees. The large lagoon up to the reef is ideal for windsurfing.

Facilities : Lounge with cozy sitting area, small island-shop, main restaurant and two specialities restaurants (Italian & Chinese), coffee shop, barbecue and grill terrace, discotheque and bar.

Accommodation : 115 comfortably furnished rooms in detached and semi detached bungalows (partly two-storied), air-conditioning, telephone, music channel, bath/shower, WC, hairdryer, mini bar, balcony or terrace. The new Water Villas, luxuriously furnished, are built on stilts and have direct access to the ocean.

Sports & Leisure: Swimming pool with whirlpool and pool-bar, deck chairs, tennis hard-court with floodlight, fitness centre, beach-volleyball, table tennis, billiard. In the evenings regularly live-music or disco. A well run Dive Base (instructions) and Surf Station (no instructions) are also available on Velassaru.

Meals : When eating at night in one of the specialty restaurants the prepaid dinner for guests on half board and full board will be taken into account.
